About This Site
This site started in 1993 as an experiment in using the then-nascent Internet as a way of sharing artwork. Since it was an early period in the Internet's evolution, it was an exciting time. I believe I was the first person to create a solo show of artworks using the Internet (please correct me if I am wrong).
As a result of the experience, I wrote this article for Art Department faculty at the University of Wisconsin - Madison, with a followup article for Art Calendar Magazine.
The site has undergone many revisions, starting with a handful of hand-rolled HTML pages which were converted to a large set of pages generated by a monster Perl script.
The current site is generated from a directory tree of unformatted content by a hand-crafted Python script and formatted by a single CSS stylesheet.
